Following graduation from the old building at Morton &
Rubel, I attended the University of Louisville. I received my BS in Commerce
with a major in Management. I was active in student affairs, serving on the
University Student Senate, Sports Editor of the Yearbook and Newspaper, among
others.
After graduation, I entered a career in Insurance and Risk
Management for a number of large Companies. This took me out of Louisville in
1979 and since then I have been in Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale, Kansas City and
finally St. Louis. This is where I have been for the last 20 years.
Two
days after finishing at UL, I married the former Phyllis Turk of Louisville.
This year, we will celebrate our 43rd anniversary. We have three sons, Michael,
a lawyer, Keith, a surgeon and Glenn, a M.I.S. consultant. All three are
married and we have 6 grandchildren.
In 1962, I enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and stayed
involved on an active and reserve basis until 1989. My final assignment was as
Commanding Officer of the Port Security Reserve Unit in St. Louis. My last rank
was Commander. |

ALLAN GOLDBERG
Upon graduating from AHS I attended U of L
and later went in for a short stint in the US Army. I then went into the family
clothing business which I later purchased and enjoyed for over 20
years.
At age 46, I decided to retire and spent 3 years playing tennis,
reading and traveling. About 14 years ago, I became involved in a new industry
as a printing distributor. I established Progressive Services Printing, Inc.
which supplies printed materials and specialty advertising items to clients in
over 30 states. Loving what I do, I have no plans to retire and intend to stay
active in the business as long as possible.
I married an AHS (class of 59) grad by the name of
Maxine Goldberg (no kin!) in June of 1962. We have two great children and 5
fantastic grandchildren who are the joys of our lives. Our son Scott, age 42,
is in our printing business. Our daughter, Elyse (age 40) lives in St. Louis,
MO and owns her own medical billing and collection business.

My wife and I enjoy working and traveling
together. We have been fortunate to be able to see many places in this world.
Last year we were able to go on a fascinating and educational trip to several
places in China and this July we are taking a trip to Poland and
Russia.
I am looking forward to our reunion in June.

I can hardly believe it has been fifty years since
graduation. I attended U of L for two years before dropping out of school. I
went to work at Stewart Dry Goods where I met my husband, Charles Boston. I
continued school at night . After I married in 1959, I worked at Citizens
Fidelity Bank until we adopted our son, Charles, Jr. and four years later our
daughter Patricia. I became a stay at home mom
worked part-time at
various jobs until my husband retired in 1993. We both serve on the board at
Fern Creek Highview United Ministries and do volunteer work through the
Ministries and our church St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Fern Creek. We enjoy
