BA at Vanderbilt in 60, then dropped out of Vandy law school
(hated the law, to my shock)....Army Intelligence for 39 months....Corning
Glass for five years, during which time I was transferred to Charlotte.
Bought into a young office supply/card/gift/book retail operation in 1969, and
helped run it for 23 years. Had 10 stores at our peak, but big box retailers
(principally Office Depot) and high occupancy costs killed us. Closed the last
store in 1992.
Stumbled around for three years, and then decided to
pursue a career in church business administration. Brief seminary study over
two years and a thesis got me FCBA certification....and am now working in my
second church (this one is Presbyterian Church/USA). Been here 6 years and love
it.
Married in 1961; remarried in 1984. Current wife (pray
fervently she will continue to keep me) has given me another son, this one now
18, and about to head off to Virginia Tech in August. He's a good soccer player
(conference player of the year and all state last fall). Have three other
children, all married, each with children....all of whom are incredibly
adorable.
Was ordained in 1998 to a ministry of administration, and now
preach occasionally. Serve as treasurer of a number of small non-profit
organizations, and have been involved extensively in homeless issues in this
area. Looking forward to the AHS Class of 56 50th!

After graduation I worked at Peaslee-Gaulbert Corp. and Decca
Records here in Louisville. I married my high school sweetheart, Norman (
Eastern '53) on Feb 8, 1958. I became at stay at home mom in 1962. We have two
sons, Marc-43 and Kent-39. Both work with their father in their insurance and
real estate businesses. We also have three step grandchildren.
We've
lived in Prospect for 34 years and also have homes in Marco Island, Florida and
Mt. Air N. C. I love to play golf and travel. We always have a project the
latest developing a luxury condo - The Regency at Seminary Woods- in Louisville
on U.S. 42.
I've enjoyed reading about my classmates. Thanks committee
for a job well done.
