Married at 21 to Ed Metry on May 1, 1960. A big Lebanese
wedding. Eddie was called up in the Army reserves in 1961 - sending us to Ft.
Smith, Ark. We have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Can you tell my heart is
with our grandchildren.
Neither Ed or I were able to attend college but both worked.
I worked at my Father's restaurant and Ed went into printing. He owned and
recently sold his small printing company and now works at the courthouse. I
worked with Ed in the printing company and went into catering having my own
business for 12 years and enjoyed it greatly. I mostly did weddings and always
had a great time doing them. I recently retired from the business and now enjoy
my family and grandchildren and of course Eddie.
We are both very
active in St. Michael Orthodox Church. Of course, I am in the kitchen and Ed as
head canton. My 45 years with my husband has flown by as did the 50 years from
Atherton. My prayers and love to all the graduates for many years of continued
good health. Shirley Naiser Metry 2006 |

Spotty work history, worked in Boston and Louisville until 1965, when
my husband and I moved to Australia with Philip Morris. I had no work permit.
We lived in Melbourne for two years, then moved to Toronto and stayed there for
seven years with the exception of seven months spent in Montreal. Moved to
Richmond in 1974 and have been here since. At one point I worked in a book

I graduated from Miami University (Ohio) in 1960; VP of the
Men's Glee Club, with a degree in Accounting; graduated from Brandeis School of
Law (U of L) in 1963; met my wife, Pam, on a visit to Richmond, Virginia and
moved here in 1964. After working for a small firm for a few years, I decided I
wanted to practice solo, and have done so ever since with an emphasis on
litigation.

I have been president of the Richmond Choral Society,
president of the Richmond Area Bicycling Association (since 1990 I have ridden
over 70,000 miles on my road bicycle) and a board and executive committee
member of the Richmond Arts Council. I have sung in choral groups, have been a
soloist in church and synogogue choirs, and performed a few concerts and
weddings. Since 2000, I have reduced my practice to 4 hours a day, which allows
me to ride my bicycle and/or to do weight training. Pam and I have traveled
extensively and have just returned from our first trip to South America to
visit our son, Todd. Although I have missed Louisville, neverless, Richmond has
been very good to me. SN2006
