Remember this lady?

This picture looks down the first floor hall of the new addition added after we graduated.  It finally replaced the "portables". The building has a second gym above the original gym.  Lockers are no longer army green/brown.

Atherton High School Louisville, Kentucky was originally founded in this building as an all girls high school. Miss Emma Jane Woerner, the first principal, was still the principal when the class of 1956 entered the tenth grade. After Miss Woerner retired,  Russell Garth became principal for our senior year.

Some time after the class of 1956 graduated, Atherton High School moved to a new location on Dundee Road.  The original building still exists and is used as a middle school.  The picture above was taken in 2004.

This  web page  was founded for the 50th reunion of the class of 1956.  The Domain name  is AHS56.com

The class of 1956 has had very good continuity with reunions held every 5-10 years since graduation.  For this we are greateful  to the group of class members  who have organized these reunions over the many years.
