Neighbors - Quiet, low traffic
This page features neighbors and services within walking distance of Oak Hill.  A short driving distance on Daniel Webster Highway are more grocery stores, post office, malls and other shopping.  Some of our hearty residents walk there. There are also several office buildings to which you can walk. The Nashua Transit System has a bus stop right outside the gate.   Nashua is an easy town in which to drive and there are religious institutions for many faiths, shopping, YMCA, and exercise gyms.

Between Oak Hill and Route 3 there are office buildings and a hotel on one side and  4 other apartment complexes on the other side of Spit Brook Road.

Roby Park
Our closest neighbor is Roby Park,  a Nashua City Park.  The park's 58,0236 acres  wraps around Oak Hill Condominiums on two sides. There are two playing fields and a playground on  Spit Brook Road.  In winter there is a sledding hill and an ice rink.  Most of the park remains wooded and there is a cross country ski trail that loops through the woods and is great for hiking in the summer.  White-tailed Deer from the park occasionally browse on our lawn. In recent years  a pair of Red-tailed Hawks nested in the woods.  There are Wood Ducks, Canada Geese and Mallard Ducks on the old Beaver Pond.  Several years ago when the beavers were active a River Otter was seen on the pond.

This is one of two ball fields in Roby Park.  There are organized games for children and adults and some free time for parents to play with their children.

In summer, the winter ice rink becomes a smooth surface for roller blades.

The children's playground at Roby Park. Imaginative, safe play equipment encourages active children.

Ice Rink serves as concrete bike riding area in summer.

This is the cross country ski trail in Roby Park. The trail begins on Spit Brook Road just west of the Oak Hill entrance.  You can also get on the ski trail from the far side of Building #3 or from the back of Building #7.  How great is it to have this within 100 yards of your home?

Sledding on the Roby Park sledding hill with ice skater on the ice rink to the right. There is a parking lot at the top of the hill for winter sledding. The mini mall is behind the sledding hill and behind the mall is Sky Meadow a residential condominium.

One skater on the ice rink.  Two more put on their skates in the shelter.

Sky Meadow Mini Mall   - Walk to Shopping and Dining

The mini mall is past Roby Park and contains Valintino's Market, Lilac Blossom Chinese Restaurant, Dry Cleaners, The Skin and Body Spac and Mogi'z Hair Salon.

Beyond the mini mall there is a medical clinic operated by Nashua Hospital.

Nashua Transit System

There is a bus stop for the Nashua Transit System just outside the gate. The bus goes down Spit Brook Road to the Royal Ridge Mall, south on Daniel Webster to the Pheasant Lane Mall, north on Daniel Webster past many auto dealers and down Main Street in Nashua to the Transit Center.  Here you can transfer to a bus to almost any place in the city.

For schedules, fares, and other questions see the web page.

Uncle Bob's Self Storage

Self storage units and packing boxes.

Fire Station

Nashua Fire Station is located across from the entrance to Oak Hill. It is always an advantage to be near a fire station.  It may lower your home owners insurance rate.

Yellow lights on Spit Brook Road warn drivers. Red lights mean the trucks are  ready to exit.

World  Schools

A private pre-kindergarten and grades k-6 school.  They also operate a summer camp and after school day care.  There is another day center center in the office building down Spit Brook Road.

The Nashua Public School's Bicentennial School is up the street on Dunstable Road and within walking distance.  Oak Hill children go to the  Fairgrounds Middle School and Nashua South High School.
