Pine Straw makes good mulch and it is free.  So why do we pay for bark mulch?  The 2012 landscaping budget is $50,000.  Can we get more for our money?

News from Our Neighbors

 Salt

This picture shows the big salt pile covered with a tarp full of holes that is leaching salt onto the parking lot and down the storm drain in the far left of the picture.  The storm drain empties directly into the woods below.

Road salt is very damaging to trees, lawns and to our cars. Why are we using so much salt and why are we not using sand.

Salt melts snow and ice by lowering the freezing point of water. If it gets cold enough the water freezes anyway.  After all we know the ocean freezes.

If the temperature is above freezing, salt does not do anything.  Why did the landscapers spread salt one night when the temperature did not go below freezing?

We used to use sand on our parking lots.  This winter there is no sand stored.  Only salt.  No wonder our lawns are bare and our trees dying.

Who makes these decisions?

Landscaper Responsibility

In the future the landscaping contractor is to be held responsible for damage caused by his equipment to fences, buildings, curbs,  trees and anything else on the property.

Be sure to report any damage you observe to the office  immediately and in writing. Timely reports will help to establish blame and relieve the homeowners from picking up the expense for the repairs.  Take pictures.

Got Too Much Stuff

You can donate gently used, working  items to the Savers Community Donation Center located on Daniel Webster Highway next to the Best Buy and across the street from the bookstore.

They will take good quality:  Clothing, Books, Household Items, Furniture, Televisions , Exercise Equipment.

They cannot take anything that holds a baby such as car seats, highchairs, swings, strollers.

Computer equipment must be working and they only take flat screen monitors.

Roby Park Ski Trail after the  Nor'Easter

A building #4 resident cleared most of the path from Building #3 to the intersection with the ski trail.  You will have to walk around one large tree probably forever.

The Parks Department was called and have done some work clearing the ski trail.  They will continue to work until the job is done.

You can now walk the entire ski trail without difficulty. It is not quite ready for skiers.

Be cautious if you hear gunfire.  All hunting should be outside the park, but wear blaze orange so you don't look like a deer.

Bad Boys

This truck is parked on the sidewalk and lawn saving the tenant moving out a few steps.  It  damaged the lawn and may have caused damage to the sidewalk.

There have been problems lately with two dog owners not picking up after their dog.  Report to the office if you see this.

Apartment Rating Website

http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/NH-Nashua-Oak-HillCondominiums.html

This is a website that provides ratings for apartments across the country. Anyone even an unhappy person with their own agenda can create a rating for an apartment.

At the present time Oak Hill carries a 78% approval rating.  Actually this is higher than other apartments in Nashua, but I think we deserve still better.

Our ratings were decreased (at one time to 46%) by a disgruntled, anonymous resident who has since moved.  This person appears to have entered several ratings by using a different user name. Of course this is dishonest.

Please go to this site and create an honest rating.  We are all facing tough economic times.  Oak Hill is a beautiful, safe, quiet, reasonably priced home and best of all it is our home.

The webmaster of OakHillNH.com has nothing to do with this site other than I have created a rating on it for Oak Hill which I posted with my user name.
