June 11 - Basking Sharks, Whales and
Seabirds Capt John Boats out of Plymouth, MA on Saturday, June 11,
2005 at 8 AM and return at 6 PM. This trip is a fundraiser for a the New
England Basking Shark Project (NEBShark). NEBShark is a project of the New
England Coastal Wildlife Alliance, a newly formed non-profit group working in
the NE area. This all-day trip will focus on both whales and seabirds observed
offshore. Wayne Peterson and David Clapp will be the seabird leaders offshore
and Carol "Krill" Carson will be the whale biologist for the trip. $75 For

Research Trip All Day Whale Watch
A super whale watch to Stellwagon
Bank which should cover more water than two four hour whale watches because it
will not return to the dock at noon. This will be a good chance to see what
birds are out there this summer.

CORE Research Trip to Great South Channel with overnight on NantucketThe
Great South Channel is one of the under birded areas of oceanic New England. I
hope there are some birders aboard this tirp to report the birds.

27 Dedicated Birding Pelagic to Hydrographer Canyon or Veatch's Canyon All
Day Join the BBCus for an all-day trip to the warmer waters south of
Nantucket Shoals in seach of White-faced Storm-petrel. and other targer
birds including Band-rumped Storm-Petrel, several species of shearwater
including Audubon's, three species of jaeger, Sabine's Gull, South Polar and
Great Skua. Last year we even had Bridled Tern. Rick Heil will be spotting the
birds and other leader TBD will narate. The trip is limited to 74 people and
costs $95 per person. We depart Hyannis Harbor aboard the Helen H at 4:00 AM
and return at 9 :00 PM. We cannot sleep overnight on the boat, but we may board
at 3:15 AM and take one of the 40 available bunks or find deck space for a
sleeping bag. Food is available on board. There is limited free parking. The
trip will be cancelled if not filled by August 1. Bad-weather date is TBD. To
reserve a space, send a check for the full amount made payable to 'Brookline
Bird Club' to Ida Giriunas, 83 Summer Ave. Reading MA 01867 and include your
email address or a self-addressed stamped envelope for confirmation and further
information. BBC members have preference over non-member early in the
registration period, so sign up now. Boarding will be according to the order in

Sept 11 -14 CORE Three Day
Continental Shelf Edge for seabirds and whales While this trip may be a
bit late for White-faced Storm-petrel it is another opportunity to look for the
offshore species over the canyons of the Continental Shelf Edge south of Cape
Cod. Comfortable boat with bunks and food included in the price.
