Dedicated Pelagic Birding on the Helen H. out of Hyannis to Hydrographer Canyon

Join the BBC for an all-day (4 a.m. to 9 p.m.) trip to the deeper, warmer waters south of Nantucket Shoals, to the edge of the Continental Shelf. We will search for White-faced Storm-Petrel and other target birds including Band-rumped Storm-Petrel, several species of shearwaters (including Audubon's), jaegers, and gulls, and possibly South Polar and Great Skua and Bridled Tern. One of the highlights last year was a Little/Macaronesian Shearwater.

Rick Heil, Steve Mirick, Marshall Iliff, and Jeremiah Trimble will be spotting and calling out the birds. The trip is limited to 73 people and costs $120 per BBC member, $140 per non-member. Be advised that there may be a surcharge to cover expenses if there is an increase in the cost of fuel. We cannot sleep overnight on the boat but we may use one of the 40 available bunks or find deck space for a sleeping bag. Food is available on board. There is limited free parking. The trip will be cancelled if the quota is not met. See below for information on how to register. Boarding will be according to the order in which you sign up.

Join the BBC for an all-day (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) trip to the waters south of Hyannis in search of alcids, gannets, phalaropes, shearwaters, jaegers, gulls, and Northern Fulmar. Rick Heil. Steve Mirick, Marshall Iliff, and Jeremiah Trimble will be spotting and calling out the birds. The trip is limited to 62 people and costs $85 per BBC member, $105 per non-member Be advised that there may be a surcharge to cover expenses if there is an increase in the cost of fuel. Food is available on board. There is limited free parking. The trip will be cancelled if the quota is not met. See below for information on how to register. Boarding will be according to the order in which you sign up.

Make checks payable to ‘BROOKLINE BIRD CLUB, AGENT’ and specify the trips for which you are registering. If you register for more that one trip, enclose separate checks and signed waivers for each. Also, please include your phone number and either your email or postal address for confirmation, boarding instructions, and further information.
